The WGC has have consolidated its strategic relationship with the World Climate Foundation, entering into a partnership to contribute at the WCF’s well-respected World Climate Summit (the ‘Investment COP’ on the 13th-14th November) which has, for many years, ran alongside the main UNFCCC events.
As part of this event, we will presenting /participating as follows:
- Opening Plenary Session: Terry Heymann will participate in a discussion on From Glasgow to Sharm El Sheikh -Tracking Progress on Implementation towards Net Zero (TH)
- Solutions Panel: John Mulligan will participate in a discussion on Africa on the Front Line – Towards a Resilient Future
- Dedicated Briefing: The WGC will host Gold’s contribution to climate risk mitigation and resilience
- Featuring contributions form WGC Chair, Randy Smallwood; Gold Fields’ CEO Chris Griffiths; and WGC’s Climate Change Lead, John Mulligan
We also continue to work with Climate Action via its well-established Sustainable Innovation Forum (9-11 November) and John Mulligan will be participating in a panel discussion on the opportunities for accelerating progress on decarbonising the global economy.
John will also be in attendance as an ‘observer’ at the COP27 UN ‘Blue Zone’, as part of the ICMM observer delegation, and in addition to attending at other third-party hosted ‘side-events’.
