We appointed Dr James Abdey, a lecturer in Statistics at the London School of Economics and Political Science, to support our analysis and develop a quantitatively robust approach to combining Metals Focus data with our historical data. This note is a brief summary of the process we followed during the project, the range of feasible options available, and a detailed explanation of the technique we adopted to develop a consistent gold supply and demand data set.
