Mike Oswin
Mike Oswin is Global Head of Market Structure and Innovation at the World Gold Council. Based in London, Mike is responsible for leading the World Gold Council's Market Structure and Innovation initiatives globally, including implementation of our Retail Gold Investment Principles and the Gold Bar Integrity project. Mike also leads our Gold247™ projects to digitalise the wholesale gold market and development of a Standard Gold Unit (SGU)™ ecosystem to act as the backbone for the broader tokenisation of gold.
Mike represented World Gold Council on the Precious Metals Working Group at the Financial Markets Standards Board (FMSB) advising on the development of Standards and Spotlight Reviews to improve the transparency, fairness and effectiveness of the global wholesale gold market.
Mike is a member of the WGC Management Committee and the leadership team tasked with defining the strategic roadmap and implementation of our market development initiatives, including the digitalisation of gold.
Mike has over 25 years’ experience in global financial markets and exchange groups with a primary remit to align strategic business objectives with innovative and effective technology solutions. As the former Global Head of Business Development at NYSE Euronext Market Solutions, he led an international team of IT specialists and business consultants to deliver multifaceted technology projects to capital market clients worldwide.
Mike has consulted on several pioneering digital asset and blockchain projects and is an experienced board member. He is a Chartered IT Professional and Fellow of the British Computer Society.
